Glass mosaic frieze

These panels were made for the dining room of a school hostel in Gloucestershire, UK, in heavy, double-glazed units. The client did not want to lose the view outside but wanted the work to give the children a feeling of containment. The central panel is backlit with a tube-light as behind it is a stone mullion. 1997

each panel 72" x 12" (1803mm x 300mm)

Because of the architectural format of a vertical rectangle, this Water Angel had to be expressed in a form when water is responding to gravity, ie, in a waterfall. The Angel gives the blessing of Water.   2002

"Michaelmas" Window

This is one of a series of panels designed and made for a School's seasonal Festivals. It is usual for Michael to be depicted killing a dragon. I have suggested the compassion of the Archangel redeeming a "human dragon", a figure derived from William Blake's "The Ghost of a Flea". The model is given of the highest and lowest of human conditions. 1998 37" x 20" (940mm x 510mm)

"Easter" Window

One of a series of School Festival windows. The moral message here is the question : "Do you choose self-will (Judas) or do you choose free-will (Jesus) thus removing impediments to the unfolding of destiny? The scene is Gethsemane at dawn. The hand of worldly law in the shape of Roman soldiery comes to implement this fateful drama. 1999 37" x 20" (940mm x 510mm)
