"Synergy"

"Synergy" window (subtitled "one and one makes three").

"Synergy" window (subtitled "one and one makes three"). This 75cm-diameter exhibition window was designed and made in 1975 as my response to a Keith Critchlow lecture on Sacred Geometry. Where the one solar/masculine circle touches the centre of the lunar/feminine other, the third form automatically appears, here as a foetus nourished by the four elements. The Vesica Pisces (uterus-shaped) is a central element in the formative geometry of many sacred buildings and structures. The fiery orange in the solar disc is created by careful etching of ruby-flashed glass plus a stain firing. With glass-painting it is possible to depict the foetus as being made entirely of light and with no delineation. 1975
